For the 2026 model year, the Kia K5 sedan is subject to a uniform price increase of $420 across all its trim levels. This adjustment means the entry-level K5 will now have a starting price of $28,565, which includes a destination charge of $1,175. The top-tier EX variant will begin at $36,065. While this marks another increase, it's notably less substantial than the $5,000 hike observed with the 2025 model. That previous increase, however, brought a wealth of additional standard equipment, such as a premium Bose sound system, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, heated steering wheel, and power-folding side mirrors.
The 2026 K5 largely mirrors its 2025 predecessor in terms of design and mechanical specifications. The model continues to offer five distinct trims, with four featuring front-wheel drive. An all-wheel-drive option remains available for the GT-Line, priced at $31,165. A minor visual alteration sees the removal of the GT logo from the brake calipers on the K5 GT trim. Powering the K5 GT is a robust turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Other trims utilize a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 191 hp and 181 lb-ft, mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Despite the incremental price adjustments, the Kia K5 has demonstrated robust sales performance throughout the current year, showing a strong recovery after the introduction of the 2025 refreshed model. Projections indicate that the K5 is on track to surpass its sales figures from the previous year, with a potential to even exceed 2023's numbers. Kia anticipates selling close to 70,000 units of the K5 this year, though this still falls short of the peak sales achieved in 2021, when over 92,000 K5s were sold. The sedan continues to be a compelling option for consumers seeking value in the mid-size car segment.
