A groundbreaking partnership has emerged between Mediawan Kids & Family, a prominent player in European youth content, and Claynosaurz Inc., creators of a wildly popular NFT brand. This collaboration aims to bring an animated series to life, inspired by the digital-first phenomenon that has captivated audiences worldwide. The project represents a significant step forward in merging creator-driven talent with established media production techniques.
The new series will consist of 39 seven-minute episodes designed to entertain children aged 6 to 12. It follows the humorous escapades of four dinosaur friends navigating the mysteries of an uncharted island. Leading the creative direction is Jesse Cleverly, a renowned co-founder and creative director known for his work at Wildseed Studios, part of the Mediawan family. Claynosaurz, founded in 2021 by Nicholas Cabana, Dan Cabral, and Daniel Jervis—former visual effects artists from Sony Pictures—has already achieved monumental success with over 450 million views and a robust online following exceeding half a million subscribers. Their short-form comedic videos have earned prestigious accolades, including multiple Collision Awards and a Webby Award. Julien Borde, president of Mediawan Kids & Family, emphasized that this venture marks a pivotal moment in expanding digital collectible brands into television series, addressing market demands for pre-established audience engagement.
This initiative exemplifies how innovative storytelling can unite diverse platforms and global talents. By leveraging social media as a testing ground for creative concepts, the team ensures the final product resonates deeply with its intended audience while maintaining the quirky charm that defines the Claynosaurz brand. Launching initially on YouTube before becoming available for licensing to traditional broadcasters, the series aims to broaden its reach significantly. Production involves a collaborative writers' room combining Claynosaurz's creative forces with those of Mediawan Kids & Family, led by Nicolas Fisch and Katell France from Method Animation, another Mediawan subsidiary. Such partnerships highlight the evolving landscape of content creation where boundary-pushing ideas meet seasoned expertise, fostering fresh opportunities in entertainment.
In today's rapidly changing media environment, embracing unconventional approaches to content development proves essential. This collaboration not only showcases the potential of integrating digital-native franchises into mainstream media but also underscores the importance of empowering creators globally. By nurturing such partnerships, industries can continue innovating and delivering compelling narratives that engage audiences across various platforms, proving that creativity knows no bounds when imagination meets opportunity.
