In a bid to inspire the next generation, Indiana University Indianapolis is hosting an engaging summer program for incoming seventh- and eighth-graders. Known as "Kids College," this initiative provides a transformative experience through hands-on activities, career exploration, and personal development workshops.

It specifically targets students from underserved communities, including those who may be the first in their families to attend college or qualify for the 21st Century Scholars Program. During the program, participants will embark on a journey of discovery across diverse disciplines such as public health, nursing, law, art, social work, and technology. Engaging activities include analyzing legal case studies, conducting research projects, and participating in interactive art and tech sessions. One standout session invites students to strategize survival tactics during a hypothetical zombie apocalypse, blending creativity with critical thinking skills.These immersive experiences are designed to ignite curiosity and demonstrate real-world applications of academic concepts. Central to the program is the Middle School Crew college readiness curriculum developed by the Office of School Partnerships at IU.
