David Arlo Armstrong, who recently passed away at the age of 84 in Minot, led a life rich with accomplishments and contributions to his community. Born in Minot in 1940, David spent his formative years in Mohall, where he developed a deep-rooted connection to the area. After graduating from high school in 1959, he pursued higher education at Minot State University, excelling not only academically but also athletically as part of the university's baseball team that achieved national recognition.

David’s career was defined by his commitment to education and sports. Upon completing his degree in education, he embarked on a teaching journey, starting as a science instructor in Tioga while coaching various sports teams. His professional path intertwined with personal milestones when he married Barbara Hanson in 1967. In 1975, the couple relocated to Mohall, where David collaborated with his father at the local Gambles Store before returning to education in 1987. During this period, he served as a science teacher, athletic director, and coach for football and track, all while contributing as a bus driver for numerous sporting events. Beyond these roles, David invested time during summers into youth baseball programs and managing recreational facilities.

The memory of David Arlo Armstrong will endure through the lives he touched and the communities he enriched. A devoted family man, he cherished moments spent watching his grandchildren's sporting activities and held steadfast support for the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Dodgers. Even in retirement, his spirit of service continued as he assisted at the Brose Funeral Home. Though preceded in death by several loved ones, including his wife Barbara, his legacy lives on through his children Darren, Bryan, and Leah, along with their families.
