In a remarkable achievement, two golfers from United South Central (USC) have secured their spots in the prestigious Minnesota State Class A Golf Tournament. Brennan Olson and Emma Heggen demonstrated exceptional skill during the Section 2A Tournament, qualifying them for the state-level competition scheduled for June 10-11 at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker.
Two young athletes from USC will proudly carry the banner of their school into the Minnesota State Class A Golf Tournament. On the final day of the Section 2A Tournament held on June 2 at North Links Golf Club in North Mankato, both Brennan Olson and Emma Heggen showcased their talents and secured their places among the elite.
Brennan Olson delivered an impressive performance with a total score of 159 over two days, ranking second among the five individual qualifiers. This marks his debut appearance at the state tournament after narrowly missing out last year by just one stroke. Meanwhile, Emma Heggen achieved a commendable score of 190 across the two-day event, placing fourth among the top five individual qualifiers. This accomplishment represents her third journey to the Class A State Golf Tournament.
Sleepy Eye United boys' team emerged victorious with a low score of 678, earning the right to represent Section 2A as a team. Similarly, Sleepy Eye United girls' team qualified with a team score of 813, further enhancing the competitive spirit of this section.
